Rev. Aaron Maurice Saari is an Ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the United Church of Christ, with clergy recognition in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). He currently serves as Pastor for First Presbyterian Church of Yellow Springs (Ohio), and he is a doctoral student in the work of Rev. Dr. King at United Theological Seminary. Rev. Saari also teaches at Xavier University.
Author of The Many Deaths of Judas Iscariot: A Meditation on Suicide, Saari has written for The Progressive Christian magazine, The Journal of Religion and Society, and The Richard Wright Newsletter. He holds a B.A. in Humanities (Antioch University); an M.A. in Theology (Xavier University); an M.A. in English (Xavier University; and an M.Div. (United Theological Seminary).
Internationally recognized as an authority on the historical Judas, Saari lectures, teaches and preaches on issues of social justice, LBGT equality, and progressive Christianity. He is a staunch advocate for gender and racial equality, and proudly serves as a board member of his local Pride group.
Rev. Saari is a long-suffering Detroit Lions fan.
